Saying Goodbye and Visiting Family in Japan

This week we have been back in Saro’s hometown in
Japan. We’ve come to participate in the “49th Day”
following his father’s passing. This is a time where
the family moves the ashes from the home to the
grave.
Okinomiyaki Night!
Being Melancholy
It
has been a melancholy week. Saro had to go to Japan
suddenly because of an illness of a family
member.
Sounds of Kink?

Gosh-O-Mighty
Duck Tape
Yesterday evening I had to laugh. It was first the

Rube Goldberg Machines Japanese Style

ピタゴラスイツチ “Pathagora Switch” is a 15 minute children’s program in Japan offering lessons in principals in science, natural phenomena, etcetera in a short vignette format. The program is similar to Sesame Street in that it uses short sketches that demonstrate and re-enforce the lessons. Between each grouping of lessons there are some transitional Rube Goldberg style shorts. Each short starts with a motion of a single object, that through a remarkable route of ingenious design ends with the show title being revealed in a new way. Check out this video to see a few of them. Be prepared to be entertained!
