About the opening photo: I love this shot! It’s the 1939/40 NY World Fair General Motors Futurama Exhibit; don’t know why kids with a rabbit and wreath are smack in the middle of this “world of 1960” publicity shot. Any ideas?

These are some of my favorite links including family, friends, and interests.

I probably wouldn’t mind; but just to be fair I decline on all requests I receive to be added to this list, so please don’t ask.
Thank you.

さろ しあとる 日記 - Saro’s Seattle Diary
This is my partner’s blog and the whole reason why I’m getting into this too!

If you have Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragana as part of your font sets you should be able to read it fine... as long as your fine with reading Japanese.

We use a kind of hybrid of both English and Japanese at home when speaking to each other, and I’m fair to midlin’ on being able to read Japanese. If your not able to read his blog, you can still scroll through to see the pictures, and by clicking on either the calendar dates or on
次へ (next page) at the bottom to view other entries; but be forewarned it’s 3 years of blog to scroll through! You can also try translating using a service like Google Translate; it gets a little weird sometimes, but you can get the general gist.

Please click on the green font link at the end of his blog entry to help him with his ranking of Japanese language sites in North America!

Feast of Fools
These guys are great! Saro and I are addicted to listening to this show. It includes a cast that I would love to have over as guests. The podcast is both frank and racy (i.e.words could peel the paint off walls) and some topics could make the dead blush; Aw heck life is too short to be a prude. Enjoy!

They’re up for awards for Best Podcast again! Please help them win the People’s Choice Award and GLBT Award by submitting your
ballot today!!

Mike’s Blender
If your an expat Gaijin from Japan, then this is the place to go and see how pop culture continues to morph as seen through the eyes of a Canadian. I have pangs to return whenever I check his site and recall the great times I had living there.

The Pioneer Woman
Ree is a woman that describes herself as someone channeling “Scarlett O'Hara, Ethel Merman, and Sylvia Plath”. She is a terrific photographer, writer, and for those who need step-by-step cooking lessons, an awesome teacher from her kitchen (If you want step by step photo instructions of good ol’ home-cooked US o’ A rib-sticking food; this is the site for you). She’s also married to a real cowboy (need to keep those Brokeback Mountain fantasies in check) and chronicles so very well how life on the ranch is both the hardest but in many ways the most rewarding life possible. Her insight is just reason enough - ‘nuf’ said.
